As it was a Saturday and it was an off at the summer camp, I
made a plan of going on shopping with my friends. We decided to go to Palika
Bazaar in Connaught Place. It is an underground market and we had never gone
there so we were all pretty excited.
It was a very confusing place as it had seven entries. From
inside it was almost like underground metro station except for the fact that
instead of metros, shops were there. There were a lot of body tattoo shops.
Seeing them we fancied about getting a tattoo too but, of course we did not as
we are too young for it are parents would not allow us in any case.
None of the shops seemed impressive. Nothing was good or
worth buying and the shopkeepers were very irritating. They pressurized
customers a lot. One thing that I noticed was that the majority of the shoppers
were college students. It was surprising how such a bad market which had so
less variety and no quality goods was so crowded. Finally we entered into a
shop with sold bags. It was getting on our nerves that after showing each piece
the shopkeeper would ask, “Should I pack this one for you?” One purse was still
better than the rest but, it was priced a thousand rupees. It was too
expensive. We are getting tired so we went out of the shop. Behind us the shopkeeper
kept calling us and I was astonished when he said that he would sell the bag
for 300 rupees! We ignored him, anyway.
It took us some time to find the exit but finally we were
able to escape from the horrible market! Phew! By then, we were all very hungry
and exhausted so we went in a coffee shop nearby. The coffee calmed me. When it
was time to pay the bills, I realized that I did not have my bag with me! Where
did I lose it? Did I leave it in Palika Bazaar? I thought I would never be able
to find it and was almost about to cry
when one of my friends suggested to look for it in the car. I rushed to the car
and thank God, it was lying on the back seat. I let a sigh of relief! I thanked
my friend a dozen times and paid the bill for her too.
Maybe, today was not a lucky day for me. It was written in
my today’s horoscope too, that I would have a bad day. After today’s awful
experiences, I have made a mental note to read my horoscope daily….you never
know!
